Nuvan Dassanaike serves as the Senior Vice President of Digital and Marketing Strategy & Operations at Accord BioPharma. Nuvan is a highly accomplished professional who has dedicated their career to creating unique moments of impact for patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals (HCPs). With a focus on leveraging technology, marketing, and data, Nuvan has successfully driven digital transformation in various sectors of the healthcare industry. With over 20 years of experience, Nuvan has a proven track record of futureproofing organizations and brands. He has deployed new commercial solutions that effectively reach, engage, acquire, and retain along HCP care treatment pathways and patient journeys, ultimately driving positive health outcomes. Nuvan's extensive work in life sciences, med tech, branded generics, and health & wellness has delivered market share gains for global brands such as ZT Bio Pharma/GNC Holdings LLC, Abbott, Mylan, Merck, and GSK. Throughout his career, Nuvan has advocated for and led digital transformation initiatives, resulting in the establishment of new revenue models. He has received accolades for his role in driving successful digital transformations at Abbott, Mylan, and ZT Bio Pharma/GNC. In his current role, Nuvan and his team have achieved exceptional global revenue growth of over 87% year on year for ZT Bio Pharma/GNC through digital acceleration in a D2C mobile-first health services and eCommerce platform. During their tenure at Abbott, Nuvan served as the head of Global Digital and Digital Innovation. He led the global transformation efforts in areas such as connected devices, nutrition, CRM, patient access/support programs, and integrated above-brand marketing capabilities. These initiatives opened new revenue streams for the enterprise, establishing active ongoing relationships with over 3 million patients globally. Additionally, Nuvan played a key role in optimizing and positioning the Abbott global eCommerce platform, resulting in $924 million in sales in 2019. At Mylan, Nuvan built the global digital engagement and innovation function from the ground up. Their focus on Integrated Omni Channel, Digital Health Innovation, Enterprise Digital Data & Analytics, and Digital Transformation facilitated the development of patient and HCP-centric digital platforms. Nuvan spearheaded the creation of Digital think-cell centers in Bangalore and Warsaw, which became Centers-of-Excellence (COEs) specializing in specific areas of commercial transformation. These COEs played a crucial role in delivering substantial savings of over $60 million to the enterprise. Additionally, Nuvan collaborated with the head of the EpiPen division to implement an omnichannel portfolio-based marketing and sales strategy, resulting in the brand achieving blockbuster status in 2016. The injectables eCommerce platform initiated by Nuvan's team drove over $8 million in recurring revenue annually. Nuvan has also demonstrated his ability to collaborate with stakeholders in Silicon Valley, start-ups, and healthcare institutions worldwide. He has successfully developed and delivered connected health digital platforms, including telehealth and app-based coaching programs, for various medical specialties. Beyond his professional achievements, Nuvan has served in board and advisory roles and has presented at international conferences. In their spare time, they engage in distance running and have completed two marathons. Nuvan also volunteers at SS. John & Paul Catholic Church in Sewickley, PA, and actively contributes as a board volunteer at Steel City Codes, a non-profit organization that offers free coding education to elementary and middle school children in Pennsylvania and rust-belt cities in the mid-Atlantic states.
