Magda Schoeneich (Head, Center for Scientific Leadership and Innovation) is an R&D focused organizational innovation expert for Takeda. 

Having a passion for imagining the future and turning it into the present, throughout her career Magda has spent time looking at technologies and dynamics of tomorrow and seeing how can they impact our work today, to meet patient needs and deliver outcomes-based value across the healthcare value chain. This vision has resulted in many innovative collaborations with partners whose offerings are not always specific to healthcare, but who represent the new frontiers of science, technology, and business models’ innovation.

• While at Pfizer, she looked at the virtual reality platform and Avatars to collect market research insights and better connect with patients.

• During her time with Johnson and Johnson, she led a team that developed an animated video game designed to assess depressive states in individuals.

• At Takeda, she is driving collaborations and programs with:

o Affective Computing Group of the Media Lab to build a mobile game platform to re-define the discharge paradigm for pediatric patients.

o Center for Collective Intelligence and the Office of the 4th Industrial Revolution to evolve data management policies in Asia

Not wanting to leave any patient frontier unexplored, she is pushing to seek and deploy solution applicable beyond time and geographies. Under Magda’s leadership, Takeda has entered a scientific partnership to explore Space Health opportunities.

As one could expect from a former professional dancer, in her pursuits, Magda tries to combine arts, science, and partnering to power up digital healthcare transformation to deliver the first of its kind solutions and to redefine the conversation, enabling new ecosystems to emerge.

An economist by training (MS/MBA) and to advance her understanding of the global emerging social issues, Magda is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Social Innovation at the University of Cambridge (UK) and works to advance embracement of arts in education as a Executive Board Member for Star Dance USA (educational outreach group).
